Humanizing our cultural conversation on suffering, death, meaning, and hope.
That’s why we need a better cultural conversation – one that explores death as an occasion for discovering who and what we truly are.
Note: Contains themes of end-of-life care and suffering.
The Expert in Humanity Workshop is designed to transform the way we approach suffering, aging, and end-of-life care within our communities. Rather than viewing profound vulnerability as a problem to be solved or hidden away, this three-day intensive teaches us how to remain present.
Drawing on deep cultural traditions, philosophy, and practical caregiving strategies, we will explore what it means to truly accompany someone. Participants will engage in active listening exercises, storytelling panels, and guided reflections aimed at building a culture that values every human person right to the very end.“To value every human person means refusing to look away when life becomes difficult. It means standing together at the bedside.”
Whether you are a healthcare professional, a caregiver, a pastoral worker, or simply someone who wants to learn how to be a better friend to those who are suffering, this workshop will provide you with the tools to become an “expert in humanity.”
